Code Sangala, also known as C.O is a musician, broadcaster a Malaria Activist as well as a Big Brother Africa 2 & 5 contestant. He rose to fame as a radio dj and later station manager for the first commercial radio station in his home country, Malawi, FM 101 Power.
Code is a founding member of Kapirintiya, a group he co found with his young bother Shadre. Together they produced 3 albums, Kwathu Nku Ndirande, Taonani Nkholamo and Tradistic Soul.
The albums produced hit songs such as, Ku Ndirande, Noel and Bwenzi Langa. He then embarked on a musical journey as a solo artist with the aim of exploring ways further incorporate more traditional Malawi elements in his music.
Code Sangala now is fueled to dig deep into the Malawian culture with his brand new album 'Mizu'. Mizu means roots in Chichewa his mothetounge and vernacular language in Malawi. It is a celebration of the depth of traditional dances such M’ganda, Tchopa, Malipenga, Gule Wamkulu from where he draws his inspiration. The dances are diverse from the many tribes in all the three regions of Malawi.
Code is a patriotic Malawi who is also passionate about the plight of Children in Malawi. Through Music against Malaria an NGO he co-founded alongside Annermarie Quinn (UK) he seeks to contribute to the development of the health sector in Malawi by raising funds to refurbish pediatric A&E departments of district hospitals in Malawi.
